Please communicate each and every request for ambient temperature adjustments in any vessel space with the Engine Room Staff.
There should be no attempt made by WCES Staff to secure any door on the vessel open or closed. Engine Room is staffed on 24/7 basis.
Each door on the vessel serves an important purpose of structural fire protection therefore any unauthorized modification to any door, even temporary, which may change the normal door closing functionality is strictly prohibited.
We already had an incident recently where staff opened the door and exhaust came inside and a West Coast worker needed medical attention, was given oxygen and was off on WCB for a week.
