ALERT!!! to All Nightly Cleaners
I had a meeting today with the Catering Superintendent and a few concerns…….
One of the reasons we were awarded the nightly cleaning contract was I had stipulated that staff would meet and great the Chief Stewarts at night and in the morning.
On some vessels this is not happening-It is a mandatory requirement.
If you get all duties done-there is an entire vessel to clean-make full use of your time.
No need to leave early.
Some Vessels have been complaining about stairwells not being done properly.
On the progress report that only is reviewed by myself-write down any concerns so I may be aware of them and address them if need be.
Nightly check off-address any defects Example-Broken toilet seat, something leaking, contractor onboard making an area dirty etc. etc.,
Please remember Supervisors we are suppose to have our commercial equipment come onboard once a month at your recommendation-Write it down under comments on your nightly check off.
Example: Stairwells or Galley Deck need to be power washed-Carpets need to cleaned-Decks need a deep scrub and polish etc.,
For Departure Bay Only:
Public Washrooms are not getting cleaned and documented not cleaned on the nightly check off.
Supplies:
Example:
If you have 4 gallons of a product and only 2 gallons left Re: Order as it may take a weeks to get your order on longer.
Do not tell BCF that you don’t have supplies to do your job and you need to use BCF supplies-This is not acceptable.
You need to sent with your order form what products you have left onboard-this is a separate form from your order form.
Supervisors are responsible for ordering in a timely fashion and making sure they have enough supplies.
If any nightly staff or Supervisors feel they need extra training please advise and I can arrange training at any time.
Thank you,
Chrissy B
