Refit Staff:
When WCES staff is working out of town-the Company provides each staff:
- Pay for Travel Time (at regular time as per the collective agreement).
Note in the past, WCES has been paying staff overtime when traveling.
This will discontinue to reflect the Collective Agreement.
- Meal Allowance – Moving forward, WCES supervisors will provide meal allowance on a daily (not weekly) basis.
Please note, meal allowances are just that, intended for meals (not a free ticket to the liquor store).
- Accommodation– Note, WCES can (and will) change its out of town accommodation policy (if their are any further incidences).
ie: each staff working out of town will be given an allowance for their accommodation ($50. ea. per night daily – based on double occupancy).
Meaning, each staff will have find their own hotel accommodations and make their own reservation,
requiring a visa credit card – paying personally for any damages or extra charges, etc., etc.
This immature behaviour is totally unacceptable!!!
Any further incidences in this regard will result in immediate termination with all the above consequences taking effect immediately.
All WCES staff are to respect the hotel, their co-workers and other patrons staying at the hotel.
All WCES staff must understand that the Hotel room is reserved by WCES and all staff must act as mature, responsible adults / representatives of WCES during their stay.
Note, it is totally unacceptable to remove TV’s, furniture or fixtures from your room.
The use of foul language / foul signage is also unacceptable while staying at a hotel where WCES is the provider.
Note, all bonuses /gift cards will discontinue until mature levels of performance and confidence is restored.
- See emails below – (Note, this is the 3rd letter from the hotel and the 3rd WCES apology).
To the Staff involved in these complaints (and you know who you are):
- They must formally apologize to the Hotel Management (and Meghan) for having to stay late on a Friday to deal with the Hotel.
- They must keep their hotel rooms tidy and acceptable. (Note, we are cleaners).
- They will pay for the extra cleaning.
Needless to say, WCES Staff have given the Company a very bad name.
I have contacted the Hotel letting them know this kind of activity this will not happen again.
Chrissy Burbank-President
Good Afternoon Nick,
We are taking this as a very serious matter as this behaviour is not acceptable from our staff.
We have said in the past we do not condone or allow this type of behaviour.
We will be talking to all of our staff this weekend that way they understand the consequences of their actions.
We would like to assure you that the crew will respect your property and conduct themselves appropriately towards your staff and the property.
We are asking that you allow our staff to stay this coming week (May 13-17).
If there is any other problems, we ask for you to come to us immediately.
Thank you,
Meghan Ransford
Administrative Assistant
Hello Ms. Ransford,
Regrettably, I have to let you know that there has been additional issues with the crew during this last stay. The attachment show’s a note left in room 263 that had Jerica Simmons and Aingelina Poznekoss-Brown registered in it. The language used, as far as I am concerned is totally unacceptable and has been received by my staff as potentially threating. In addition TV’s were removed from the wall in 263 and switched with the TV in 264 without our approval or knowledge.
We frequently host work crews for extended periods so we have a fairly good understanding of what to expect and know that those rooms will usually require extra cleaning, especially after extended stays, so we understand that that is part of the business. But the condition that some of the rooms were left in by this crew went well beyond what we would accept as normal, to the point we had to take one of the rooms off market for an extra day so it could be cleaned before we could rent it again.
At this point if your company wish to continue using our hotel, I have to ask for assurances that the crew will respect our property and conduct themselves appropriately towards our staff.
With regards,
Nick Coates
